After a careful application and interview process, our staff selects 5-10 qualified candidates to participate in an innovative summer of lessons and learning. Through careful guidance and hands-on experience, CIT's grow into confident, responsible and knowledgeable leaders. By summer's end, CIT's gain experience handling expected and unexpected emergencies, mediating camper conflicts, managing group dynamics,
creating fun camp activities, shadowing veteran counselors and training to receive CPR and first aid certifications. As always, our primary focus is on safety and fun while under the supervision of qualified staff.
Take the next step! Apply this summer!
CIT's are expected to be "on duty" every Monday and Thursday for at least 7 out of the 8 weeks of camp, and participate with their peers in the Trec Program during the other three days each week. Teens interested in applying for a spot in our training program are encouraged to submit a letter of interest, three references and a resume including extracurricular activities, achievements and community service experience. Upon receipt of their letter, we will arrange an interview and discuss goals for the summer.
